Naturally Healthy Skin For the Holiday Season
Nov 20, 2020
While we love the holiday season, it’s no secret that it can be a busy and stressful time. The effects of a few too many late nights, festive season indulgences, and days spent in the sun may begin to make an appearance on your skin. Here are some of our top tips to keep your skin healthy and glowing while enjoying the holidays.
Get your beauty sleep
Lack of sleep can have a major impact on the appearance of your skin. Sleep gives your skin the time it needs for recovery from damage and inflammation. Losing sleep can affect your skins ability to heal and hydrate, and skin texture and collagen growth may suffer. Under eye circles and pale dehydrated skin are common signs of a poor sleep, and acne breakouts can also occur.
We recommend committing to at least 7 hours of sleep each night. While many of us have alarms for when we wake up, getting to bed on time is less of a priority and can be a major factor in sleep deprivation. To prioritise this, set an alarm to remind yourself when it is time to wind down for bed; this can make all the difference!
Detox & exfoliate with our Charcoal Clay Mask
The skin is your body’s largest organ and protective barrier; provide it with the right defences and nourishment to ensure you and your skin stay healthy. Our award winning Charcoal Clay Mask has been formulated to deeply purify and detox your skin, making it a holiday must-have. The natural formula also acts as a gentle exfoliant, helping to remove dead skin cells for a smooth, clear complexion. Plus, it’s packaged in handy sachets perfect for skincare on the go.
We recommend using Charcoal Clay Mask once or twice per week for best results. Apply the creamy mask liberally to your face, avoiding the eye area. Leave on for approximately 20 minutes then rinse with warm water. For best results, apply after exfoliation and before your Living Nature toner.
Stay hydrated
Pay attention to your water intake – your skin will thank you for it. Staying hydrated can have a wealth of skin benefits, including improving skin tone, maintaining skin elasticity, and reducing puffiness. It is commonly recommended to drink approximately 3.7 litres for men and 2.7 litres for women – beverages, fruit and vegetables with a high water content also contribute to this.
Keep up with your night time skincare routine
When away on holiday or after a big night, it can be tempting to skip your skincare routine, particularly at night. But at Living Nature, we view this as one of the most important rituals to stick to. Leaving makeup on overnight may encourage unwanted breakouts and clog your pores, and your skin will be missing out on essential nutrients to keep it healthy. At night, your skin does its best work to renew and regenerate while you sleep. Whether you’re in your 20s or aged 60+, it’s always important to supplement this process with results-driven, nutrient-rich ingredients specifically chosen to stimulate skin cell renewal and regeneration.
Before bed, gently cleanse your skin to remove all traces of makeup, and apply a toner and moisturiser. To give your skin an additional boost, add our Advanced Renewal Night Serum into your routine. This is particularly relevant during times when your skin might be feeling stressed or depleted. Advanced Renewal Night Serum has been carefully formulated to address dull, tired skin and provide skin cells with energy to renew and repair.
